WeTeachMe has been recognized as a WBA Winner for Product Innovation in the World Business Awards 2022. The World Business Award for Product Innovation [PIA] recognizes products and services that provide innovative solutions for business and market needs.

WeTeachMe is Australia’s first trusted and most awarded community marketplace for listing, discovering, and booking in-person and online courses. Now in its 10th year, the company continues to provide a platform for teachers and students to connect and share their passion for learning with the world.

WeTeachMe gives teachers a cloud-hosted, web-based, end-to-end solution for organising all of their classes and workshops, as well as visibility to thousands of potential learners. Not only has this reduced administrative time and promotion costs for Australia’s educators; it has also increased their income and saved them thousands of man-hours. On top of this, the website blends powerful features with stunning design to bring its visitors the best user experience.

Since it launched in 2011, WeTeachMe has presented educational and creative experiences exclusively in person, which suits Australians and their natural curiosity, sense of innovation, and unquenchable thirst for face-to-face learning. As COVID-19 shut down many businesses and restricted all forms of physical proximity in the name of public health, this core differentiator of the brand was put to the test.

Thus, for the first time ever, WeTeachMe set out to bring classes and workshops into the online space, which also meant taking its vendors – many of whom also deliver course content only in person – into an unknown frontier. At stake was not only the survival of the business; more importantly, it would impact the livelihood of hundreds of teachers across Australia.

The team leveraged its decade-long experience in product development and design, to create new functionalities in an agile manner and at unprecedented speed.

In a matter of weeks, WeTeachMe launched several new features back to back, including:

– A Zoom app to enable livestreaming as a new way of teaching classes and workshops
– On-demand course delivery, wherein teachers record their classes once and earn limitless residual income, by making the content available at any time to students not only in Australia but anywhere in the world!
– A credit note tool so teachers can better manage their cash flow, even with persistent lockdowns
– Private bookings for online events, to allow for a safe way for families, friends, and organisations to celebrate when they are asked to stay indoors

And most recently, WeTeachMe launched a full-featured learning management system, yet another channel for teachers to reach new students, expand to a worldwide market, and develop new, sustainable income streams.
